Trip To California For Maggie’s Birthday

What a trip we had.

We just got back from California, celebrating my mother-in-laws 80th birthday. It was so much fun being able to see everyone, especially the kids who have all grown so much!

The play house that Troy built in Nina's backyard is so cool. It's tall enough for us big kids to stand up in, and has a skylight and front porch. The kids are going to have such a great time playing there for years to come.

Natalie got to see some of her girlfriends from the neighborhood, which was good for her. She misses her friends, but loves her new home. We picked them up and took them to breakfast, and then to the mall so they could hang out.

20 of us got together for dinner to celebrate Maggies birthday at Off Street Café. We were able to pick up one of her favorite cakes, a coconut pineapple cake from Bake N Broil. Pretty good cake!

While we were there, fires were burning all around us, filling the air with smoke and ash. The Santa Ana winds kicked up and fanned the flames, burning 100's of homes and thousands of acres. It was such a tragedy to watch.

I've posted the pictures from our trip to the photos site. I have a couple of videos that I'll put to the You Tube site, tomorrow!

And, as an extra note – at Softball practice tonight, Natalie got SMACKED in the eye during warm ups, just not paying attention! Of course, she is playing a sport where the object is to throw a ball at other players as hard and as fast as you can. I mean, what does she expect???? Check out the pictures of it, I've started a new Softball Season album, 08-09.
